How to Run a Small-Group Pilates Circuit with Four Equipment Sets

by LumaHvn 14 Aug 2026

Small-group Pilates sessions run more smoothly when every participant has access to the same basic tools. Matching equipment reduces waiting, keeps exercise instructions consistent, and makes station changes easier to organize.

The LumaHvn® 4 Pilates Ring and Ball Sets includes four 12-inch Pilates rings, four 9.8-inch mini balls, and four flat resistance bands. That creates four complete equipment stations for a studio class, training group, or shared home session.

Four matching sets make equipment distribution simple for a small group.

Why three tools are enough for a full circuit

Each tool creates a different training cue. The ring adds controlled compression, the mini ball adds support or positional feedback, and the flat band adds pulling resistance. Together, they cover upper-body, lower-body, core, and mobility work without complicated transitions.

A four-station class format

Set up four identical spaces before participants arrive. Use a mat or clearly marked floor area for each person, then place one ring, one ball, and one band at every station. Demonstrate all movements before the timer starts.

Station 1: Ring press

Participants sit tall and hold the ring at chest height. Press inward for three counts, pause, and release for three counts. Continue for 45 seconds, focusing on relaxed shoulders and even pressure.

Station 2: Mini-ball bridge

Place the ball between the thighs and complete slow bridges. Use only enough pressure to hold the ball in place. Participants who prefer a simpler variation can keep the hips on the mat and practice gentle presses.

Adjustable mini balls can be used for support, feedback, or light resistance.

Station 3: Band row

Sit with legs extended comfortably and loop the band around the soles of the feet. Pull the elbows back and return slowly. Keep the band away from the face and avoid wrapping it around the hands.

Station 4: Ring-and-ball mobility

Hold the ring overhead for a gentle side reach, then bring it to chest height. Place the ball behind the upper back while seated for a small supported extension. Keep both movements within a comfortable range.

Timing and rotation

Use 45 seconds of work and 20 seconds to reset. Complete each station twice, then finish with a group cool-down. Because all four stations use the same equipment, you can also keep participants in place and change the exercise together rather than rotating bodies around the room.

Studio care and organization

Number the sets if they are assigned to regular stations. Wipe down rings and balls after use, allow bands to dry fully, and inspect every item for damage before the next class. Store balls away from heat and sharp edges.

For mixed-experience groups, change the range, pace, or body position before increasing resistance. A smaller controlled movement is the most useful first modification.

Safety note: Group instructors should screen participants, demonstrate safe setup, and offer stable alternatives. Participants should stop if they feel pain, dizziness, or unusual discomfort.
