7 Beginner Pilates Ring Exercises You Can Do at Home
A Pilates ring adds feedback to familiar movements. A gentle squeeze helps you notice when both sides of the body are working together, while the padded handles provide a clear place for the hands, thighs, or ankles.
This routine uses the 12-Inch Pilates Ring with EVA Padded Handles. The goal is controlled pressure, not flattening the ring.

1. Seated chest press
Sit tall and hold the ring at chest height. Exhale as you squeeze lightly, pause, and release without losing all tension.
2. Overhead press
Lift the ring overhead with soft elbows. Apply gentle inward pressure while keeping the ribs stacked over the pelvis.
3. Inner-thigh squeeze
Lie on your back with knees bent and place the padded handles between the thighs, above the knees. Squeeze and release for 8 to 12 repetitions.

4. Bridge with ring
Keep the ring between the thighs, lift the hips into a bridge, pause, and lower slowly. Maintain gentle inward pressure without letting the knees collapse together.
5. Ankle press
Place the ring between the ankles while lying on your side or back. Press lightly, keep the legs long, and release slowly.
6. Seated rotation hold
Hold the ring in front of you, rotate the rib cage slightly to one side, return to center, and switch. Keep both sit bones grounded.
7. Standing side press
Hold the ring beside one hip and press inward with both hands. Keep the torso upright and repeat on the other side.

Turn the seven moves into a routine
Complete one set of 8 to 12 repetitions per exercise. Rest as needed and repeat the circuit once if your form stays steady. A 20–30% squeeze is usually plenty.
Check the ring and pads before each session. Stop if the ring feels cracked, sharply deformed, or unstable.
